Wooden dog crate furniture, made in the USA
Most crates are built to be hidden. Ours are dog crate furniture meant to stay in the living room: premium Baltic birch plywood with a hand-stained Oak finish, designed in Santa Monica and handcrafted in the USA. If you've been looking at furniture style dog crates or dog cage furniture and found mostly metal bars under a wood-look top, this is the other approach. These are wooden dog crates where the furniture part is real.
The Den: an end table dog crate
The Den works as an end table. Its flat top holds a lamp or a stack of books beside a sofa or bed. It has one sliding door on the front: the right side slides to the left, so nothing swings into the room. Interior is about 40.5″ L × 28.5″ W × 33″ H.
The Pad: a furniture dog crate in two sizes
The Pad works the same way. Its right-side clear acrylic panel slides left in front of a fixed wood-slat side, so your dog can see out without metal bars. The Small (interior about 24.5″ × 17.5″ × 21.5″) fits dogs up to about 25 lb. The Large (interior about 38″ × 28.5″ × 32.5″) is our large dog crate furniture option and fits many dogs around 40–85 lb.

Our dog crate size chart lists interior sizes and breed weights side by side. Tall, lean breeds such as Greyhounds and Dobermans sit higher than their weight suggests, so check height first.

Which dog crate furniture works for a large dog?
The Pad Large fits many dogs around 40–85 lb. Its interior is about 38″ L × 28.5″ W × 32.5″ H. The Den's interior is about 40.5″ L × 28.5″ W × 33″ H. Tall, lean breeds should be measured sitting before you order, and dogs over roughly 90 lb or 36″ long are too big for the Pad Large.
Can a dog crate work as an end table?
Yes, if it's built for it. The Den is an end table dog crate. It has a flat top meant for a lamp or books, stands 34.5″ tall, and its single front door slides (the right side moves left) instead of swinging, so it can sit beside a sofa or bed without needing clearance for a door.
Are these wooden or hardwood dog crates?
They're wooden dog crates made from premium Baltic birch plywood. Oak is the name of the hand-stained finish color; the wood is birch. Birch is a hardwood, but this is plywood rather than solid boards.
What's the difference between dog kennel furniture and a dog crate?
The terms overlap. "Kennel" can also mean a travel carrier or an outdoor run, while "crate" usually means an enclosure your dog sleeps in at home. Dog kennel furniture and crate furniture both describe the same idea: an enclosure built to look and work like furniture.
Does the door swing open?
No. Each crate has one sliding door on the front, where the right side slides to the left. On the Pad, the sliding panel is clear acrylic and moves in front of a fixed wood-slat side. On the Den, the door is wood. Neither needs room in front of it for a door to swing.
How do I choose between sizes?
Measure your dog's length from nose to the base of the tail and their height while sitting, then add about four inches to each. Pick the crate whose interior covers both. If you're between sizes, size up. A puppy still being housetrained does better with a divider in a larger crate.
